Panel doesn't light up when selecting settings
There is power, and light comes on in the drum when I open the door. But panel won't light up / dryer doesn't run.
It has happened on other occasions. One minute it is fine, and sometimes it doesn't work.
Ive made certain that the door is shut properly.

Check the door switch itself.

You will have to go through the safeties with a good multimeter. Here are the books you will need: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/GE_Dryer.pdf

Start tracing the circuit at the hot wire as it comes into the dryer. From the entry point power usually goes through a safety and on to the others in series. The door switch is such a safety and you will also have a hi-temp cut out safety, too. If the dryer is dirty it can blow the hi-temp safety and you should totally tear down the dryer and clean every part before replacing that safety. (See: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/Electric%20Clothes%20Dryers%20and%20Fires.pdf) Don't burn your house down with a dirty dryer.
