From the reading I have done I believe the way I need to go is a compression flange. My home is about 36 years old and I believe that I have cast iron waste pipes. My issue is that the concrete is decayed around the waste pipe and I am wondering if I need to secure this to the slab? If I have been too vague please let me know.

Thanks
Brian

If you have a cast iron flange that's leaded in you shouldn't have to secure it to the floor. The weight of the slab and the soil covering the closet bend will keep it secure. Try to pull it up. Bet you can't. Tom

Actually It doesn't look like there is a flange at all just the wax ring smushed over the waste pipe. When the slicone around the toilet came undone so to speak the toilet came off the waste pipe. Thanks for the response but I have decided to enlist the pros and let my mind be a peace.
