I have a White-Rogers 1F82-261 thermostat that I am replacing with a Honeywell rth6350d. I have a heat pump system and the white-rogers thermostat had the terminals C, W2, E, R, G, O/B, and Y that were being utilized. I capped off the C and need to know where to put the W2 and E wires. I have placed the G to G, R to R, O/B to O/B, and Y to Y. Im not sure what to do with the W2 and E. I currently have them both in the Aux/E slot and my system is running but something is not right. It seems like it takes forever to heat up the house and it keeps running just cycling through heat and cool. The unit is on AUTO not RUN and it is on heat. Not sure what the problem is. Not sure if I have the settings on the new thermostat set correctly either. Any info may help. Thanks!

What do the installation instructions say? Refer to page 24 of the RTH6350 manual. Some T'stats are not interchangeable depending on the system you have.

Yeah it says to stop and contact a professional if I had a w2 connected but I thought maybe there would be some magical answer

You do not do anything with those terminals. Leave them open. They are for extra things. W2 is for a second stage of heat and X is used for several things like a filter warning.
