My period began about 2 weeks ago. Ar first was very light and stopped for a day, then came back very heavy, with huge clots and the amount has been progressing daily. Two days ago cramping began. It is not exttreme but a lttle more than irritating (about 4 on 1-10 scale) Never had a period like this before. I am 46, have my tubes tied, have 3 children. The last one 5 years ago.

No one can diagnose you on line, but apparently you are premenopausal and should be consulting your doctor about this. Any excessive bleeding needs to be addressed immediately.

It's time to see your gynecologist. Many of my friends have had this happen, and I have too. For me, it was a hormone imbalance, for others it was more serious. Make an appointment as soon as possible.
