I have a water problem under my slab. Have eliminated pipes and drains as problem. It appears to be artesian water. How do I verify this and how do I rectify the problem. Have lived here 30yrs and this is the 1st time this has ever happened. Suggestions!

1. Where do you live? My basement in CT is wet for the first time ever, mostly from the very wet spring and early summer. It's taking a long time to dry out too. Most of the seepage was at the top row of rebar ties. Some at the base of the wall.
2. How old is your slab? In my research on concrete, I found out that it 'ages' and changes for about 40 years, and often develops seepage around then. I was at my parents' house and their house was just 40 years old and getting wetter and wetter. Also, in those days, vapor barriers weren't put under slabs. And my house is the same age (theirs a slab, mine a full basement).
3. Do you have drainage buried around the periphery, and have you checked it? Do you have downspouts that go into the ground, and checked them (often easiest to just cut them a foot off the ground and drain them above ground).
