You need to pull the door panel off and see what's wrong.

Thoughts:

First, check the setting of the child safety lock on the driver's arm rest. Second, you may need to connect an advanced scan tool to the data link connector (DLC), located under the dash. The scan tool needs to be able to read body control module codes. If you are so inclined, you can download for free FORScan.org to your laptop computer and, using an ELM327 scan tool adapter, read all codes on Ford, Mercury, and Mazda vehicles. Plug the ELM327 into the DLC and turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Bluetooth on your laptop, use pairing code 1234 to link your laptop to the ELM327 scan tool. Double-click the FORScan icon on your laptop and set FORScan to the COM connection. Based on the code or codes thrown, it will send you in the right direction. Third, it may be necessary for you to remove the door panel and make repairs.
