If I had a dime for every post on this site asking how a teen can become a singer, I'd be rich.

First, can you actually sing? Not your opinion, or your family's opinion, or friends opinion, but have you actually sung in front of strangers and been told you're good?

You mentioned talent shows. Did you win?

Fact is, there are millions of talented singers out there, and the majority will never become famous. If you can sing, then you're already a singer. So your goal has been fulfilled. If you want to make a career out of singing, you'll have to work hard, get your voice out there, either by singing in clubs, on YouTube, anywhere they'll let you, and work 24/7 to get yourself heard, and hope that someone that can make your dreams come true, hears you, likes you, and signs you.

The chances of that happening are slim. But don't give up. Just be prepared to work, and work hard. Really hard, and realize that it may take years, many years, before you're discovered and signed, if it ever happens at all. Also realize that the chance of never becoming famous, is much more likely than you hitting it big.

Good luck. You'll need it. :)

Talent shows are the "real deal" so how many 1st place did you get ?

Has any agent came and talked to your parents after the talent shows.

How many videos have you posted on YouTube and Facebook, for people to see.

Besides contests, how many days a week, do your parents take you to open mic nights to perform for public.

If you have performed at talent shows you ARE a singer. What were the results of those shows? What is it you really want?
