I am trying to get a divorce, but am not getting any answers that are helpful. We got married in 2011 and after three months he left town and went back to Ontario to be with his ex girlfriend, he was a very abusive alcoholic, which I did not know until we got married as he showed no signs of. I can not find him and have no contact with him its like he has fallen off the face of the earth... what can I do as I would just like to get on with my life. I am now with a very loving and caring man, but our furthering our relationship has been put on hold due to this. What can I do?

It is always harder, when they can not be located, You will need to hire an attorney, who will file for divorce, attempt to locate, according to court rules will be shown,
This is a more common issue, it will just cost more, than if he can be found, and does not contest.

Any question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area. You said he went back to Ontario but you don't indicate where you are. Many areas have no fault divorces that are easy and inexpensive. They may simply require that you you go through a series of steps (mail, newspaper ads, etc) to show you tried to serve him. If he doesn't contact you to protest the divorce, then a court will grant it by default. You need to see if your area as such.
