Hi
I have 2 computers with XP; each uses a Canon i450 printer. I recently installed SP2 to XP on both computers. Now, when I try to print 4 X 6 postcard announcements, the text is misplaced 1 1/2 inches from the side. Canon tech did not help. A downloaded Canon driver changed nothing. I've reinstalled the printers but still have the problem. Help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there

I've just been through a nightmare with this problem.

Unfortunately it coincided with me needing to replace my Epson cartridges. I used compatibles and I thought the problem started then. However, after installing 4 different sets of cartridges - including one of Epson, I got to thinking about SP2.

I tried to do a system restore and my computer objected loudly. I finally re-installed windows but didn't put SP2 on and the printer is working fine again.

It's a long way for a shortcut. I'd take the SP2 off the proper way if I were you and see what happens.

Hope you get it sorted as it really is a pain.

I have had multiple problems with multiple pieces of Canon hardware and Windows XP. Most of the time, I have found that unfortunately, the only way to fix the problem is to back up your data, format the hard drive and install the printer FIRST. When I reinstall the computer I use a Windows XP install cd with SP2 on it already and have never had a problem. This may or may not work in your case however.
