Hello,
My period ended last Sunday. August 17th. My boyfriend and I have been having unprotected sex and he came in me at least 3 times. Is there a possible way I could be pregnant?

We had sex this Tuesday, August 19 until Thursday and that's exactly three days and he told me when if he came or not.

Of course you can be pregnant. Are you trying to have a baby, because it sure sounds like it.

Of course you could get pregnant. You are having unprotected sex. Have you started buying diapers yet?

No we really weren't trying to.. I thought it had to be when you were going through ovulation. But I read an article saying you could still get pregnant after 6 days of your period cause that's how long sperm lasts in your system. I just wanted a second opinion.

Ovulation is different for every woman. To know your ovulation you need to track it using the basal body temperature method for 6 months to a year.

This is posted in teens. Are you prepared to be a teen single mother?

There's still a possible chance I won't be. I have a job. And it pays good. And my boyfriend wouldn't leave me over having his kid. Kind of ignorant thing to say..

Not ignorant at all. Honest, and truthful.

I deliver babies for a living. I've seen it more times than you could imagine.

I'm just trying to get you to see reality. Sure, there is a possibility that you aren't, but what if you are? You are a teen. There are some very real health dangers with being pregnant so young. Some permanent, some temporary.

You may have a job, but most likely you don't make enough to support a child. How about school? Are you finished with school? Do you have plans for your future?

If your boyfriend doesn't leave you, you will be the minority. Most guys who are not married to their girl do skip out eventually.

Ignorant is not being informed about pregnancy.

I will have to agree, the loving boyfriend, who is having the fun of dating and sex, really changes a lot and almost none of them stay, and yes, every girl will say the boy will stay. But when he can not longer hang with friends, play video games a lot and has to share work of a baby, most just walk away.

After that, plenty of sperm in early fluids, so does not matter if he "finished or not"

You do not know you ovulation, online charts are estimates for average. Your person time, may be completely different. A few women have even gotten pregnant during their period.

So you are just being told some hard true facts

Depending on the length of your menstrual cycle, you may have actually put yourself right in the average time for ovulation. While most women will follow a fairly predictable pattern, others will not, and this tends to be even more likely in the teen years. Various reasons can alter when a woman ovulates. This is why you always, always need to use birth control consistently to lessen the chance of an unplanned pregnancy. There is no 100% safe time.

You are the one who has complete control over this. You can use a regular form of birth control yourself, and let your boyfriend know, no condom, no sex. If he won't go for that, then you'll know that he isn't thinking about your well being only about his wants.

It is important to remember, however, that birth control only lessens the chance... pregnancy can and does still happen, so ultimately if you aren't physically, emotionally, and financially able to have and raise a baby on your own you should rethink having sex.

Yes, you are likely not to be pregnant.....this time, but why take chances? Everyone thinks it won't happen to them, that it only happens to someone else. Just remember that to other people, you could be that someone else.

Now you'll need to wait and see what happens when you would expect your next period.

What kind of job does a 16 year old have that pays good, good enough to support a baby?
You are living in fantasy land. You are not prepared financially or emotionally to have a baby. If you are going to continue having sex, at least use birth control

In 2012, a total of 305,388 babies were born to women aged 15–19 years. likely that went up in 2013, and you have probably added to the next total of the thousands of babies that will be born to kids your age in 2014. Way to go.

Yes, you are pregnant. You gambled, and you lost. You chose to get pregnant, or you've got the brain power of a billy goat, thinking that it couldn't happen to you. Read above statistic again, there are many of 'you' out there.

There is no way a 16 year old is mature enough, physically and mentally, to have a baby, and support it- without a lot of help. Your skill level for getting a well-paying job to support yourself and a child is probably based on the same childish logic as having sex multiple times, and thinking you couldn't get pregnant. Most likely you work at flipping burgers or in a retail store for minimum wage, live at home, and aren't even old enough to have a phone in your own name.

And, here goes the billy goat thinking again- you figure some horny teenage boy is going to stick by you? Serious?? Everything you've said and everything you've done adds up to what will probably be a lifetime of poverty- at least until the child is out of the home. And try to fill in those gaps that happen in your lifetime, when you have a baby to put first. Such as finishing high school, going on to college, graduating and having a good job to go to, saving money to buy furniture and clothes, and go out on dates and maybe even buy a car, and... well, you get the picture. Say good bye to all of it.

And maybe you don't get it. Is that why you chose to get pregnant? I'm saying you ARE pregnant because there is a very good chance you are. It makes me very angry to think that you have so little control over yourself that you made such a stupid move. And who is going to pay for your mistake(s)? Taxpayers, your parents, and above all- this child. A child born to a girl of 16 will have a very hard go, living in a basement closet apartment, and making weekly trips to the food bank. It is the public who will be supporting you, and it isn't likely that you will ever be able to manage a baby, and go to school, because you are so immature and ridiculous in your thinking.

A child having a child, and another statistic is what you are.

There is nothing special about you. You have no magical powers to will away a pregnancy, and you are no smarter than the 305,388 other teenage moms out there, and counting. Very, very sad.

I hope that when the baby arrives, you will do the right thing then- and put the baby up for adoption.
