I have three remote key fobs and can successfully enter program mode and all three 'keys' test OK while in program mode. When I turn off the engine and exit the car, the key fobs do not work! The driver door lock/unlock button works, the key fobs have new CR1616 batteries and their LEDs light brighty--but do not work!
I am the newest owner of this 2004 Honda Accord, there have been two previous owners. I just got one key with the Accord and its remote entry buttons were missing (I replaced 'em). No telling what was done to disable remote entry due to past lost keys, etc. I know that programming mode erases any previous key fob identities, but have no idea what the previous owners/dealer did.
During programming, I hear the 'successful' sign of the muted thump in each door for each of my newly programmed key fobs. Again, the key fobs do not lock/unlock at all! But, without a car wiring diagram I don't know if pulling a relay or program option can disable remote entry all together. It appears that the programming phase 'door thump' just doesn't connect to each door lock actuator--even though the inside driver door lock button really does actuate all door locks to lock and unlock!
