There is a movie that used to always come on IFC. It was about an author who has a drug dealer as a roommate but ends up failing as an author and becoming a drug addict. The movie begins by a monologue of the main character talking about the number of days he has left to live subtracting sleep. It was a passionate speech emphasizes the urgency of not wasting time in a person's life. The main character also loses his girlfriend/fiancee at the beginning of the movie and ends up falling in love with a hard core addict. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the movie. Frankly, the movie was just okay, but the speech the main character gives at the beginning and I believe the end of the movie ia the reason I want to find information on this movie. I believe the characters were also British, if that helps.
