I am one to usually figure out what's wrong with me prior to visiting a doctor or solving the problem without having to go, but this situation has been very weird.

Sorry this is going to be long, but I want to give as much information as possible. It started about 4 weeks ago I saw one small bump on my penile shaft and was confused because I assumed any bump on that area would be an STD, which I was almost certain I couldn't have gotten. The bump was about the size of a pea. It was a hard bump that I assumed was pimple, but when it did not progress to being able to be popped I then thought it must be an ingrown hair.

I had shaved about 4 days prior to the bump showing up so I was certain this was it. Also during this time I was working early and long days so I was not showering as I usually do (twice a day) and probably showered once every 2 days maybe 3 days at one point. The work required some labor and I was sweaty and worked on a dirty roof which didn't help the hygiene maintenance.

After a week I got fed up with the bump and started squeezing it and trying to get something to come out, but the bump would only get bigger and bigger. I assumed I was inflaming it and tried using a heat compress and taking ibuprofen, which I believe helped, but I did not try this for a prolonged time. I was getting so frustrated that this thing wouldn't go away because that's a sensitive area for someone to have anything wrong with. The size then remained at about the size of a nickel and was started to get me more upset.

I squeezed, I massaged, I left it alone for a couple days, then repeated. Nothing was working and the bump was just getting bigger and more annoying. Looking back I wish I would have done differently, but I was masturbating almost daily and that probably didn't help the situation at all and most likely worsened it.

I did the dumb thing and tried sterilizing a needle and poking into the bump which did nothing but release a little blood from the incision I made. I quickly realized how stupid this was and didn't try it anymore, but a few days later and a little bit bigger I popped above where the bump was and a yellow liquid came out which made me realize I had infected the cut I created with the needle. As the bump got bigger I finally decided after 4 weeks to see a doctor.

I told the doctor I thought it was a cyst because it felt like there was liquid inside and was about the size of a sebaceous cyst. He agreed and said he can cut it open and release everything. I was happy because I finally figured it out but we were both wrong. When he cut an incision after a painful shot, he said he couldn't get anything to come out. Not only that, he couldn't understand what the problem was. He was baffled and that made me worried because he has an extensive medical background. He left me not knowing any idea of what was wrong.

I was prescribed Augmentin mainly because I mentioned reading about taking an antibiotic for some reason. He seemed like he was stumped for the first time ever the way he acted. I said well could it be cancerous and he said no way in hell, then I asked if it was an STD even though I believed it definitely wasn't and he said I was correct that it definitely isn't an STD. So I'm still here with a hard-ish bump about the size of a nickel on the penile shaft about halfway down with two stitches on the bump.

No idea what's going on, no direction to go, and my next thought is to go to a urologist.

Details: I'm a 19 year old healthy male

A few questions I have is:
Could it be a cyst even if nothing could be drained after the doctor cut it open?

I found an article about lymphocele, but it said it mostly occurs after surgery which I haven't had. Could it be this?

Does anyone have a similar story or situation they can relate?

Am I going to die, (semi-serious)?

Sorry for the length I just wanted to provide enough background so everyone didn't have to ask specifics.

I'd appreciate any advice or opinions very much.

You need to stop trying to play doctor, and let the real doctor do his job.

When you start trying to tell the doctor what was wrong, and not let the doctor do tests and find out what is really wrong, you are a fool.

When did I say that I did not let the doctor do tests? He clearly did an examination of my problem and concluded what he believed was wrong based on his observations.

You also repeated yourself by using the same paragraphs to begin and end your expert analysis.

I was not looking for an insult calling me a fool by posting this, but since you are trying to make money by posting these answers using your Adsense account, I'm guessing you aren't a very bright individual who could recognize that.

No need to be confused, chuck is an expert, like myself. I am confused though with your doctor's approach to your problem. Did he make that incision in his office ? Absolutely not done as far as I am concerned and as you say he has extensive medical knowledge, he could not diagnose your 'lump'.

Get another doctor and a second opinion. I have my thoughts on what your lump started to be, but I can't see it so unable to give a diagnosis, which we are unable to do here.

Of course if you had not gone off and insulted a member, you would probably got more opinions here. Next time no matter how you feel about a response, be civil, you were not called a fool or I insulted.

First, it is not a lymphocele, they do not occur on the penis. Was your Dr a Urologist ? If not, then you need to see one.
Your Dr may be wanting to let the inflammation from all the squeezing and cutting go away and then re-assess it, I do not know.

Hi. I am an expert in adult sexuality and I endorse Everything that chuck said.

You're 19. You're not a stupid man, you're moderately bright by the looks of it but accept the fact that you're ignorant when it comes to medicine. This isn't a bad thing because 99%+ of the population is in the same boat. Reading and figuring out what you may or may not have isn't a bad thing but realize that because you don't have 12+ years of medical education you can't possibly know and understand the subtle interactions and subtle differences that could differentiate two disorders. This is why half the people who look at webMD believe they have cancer by the end of.

Educating yourself is good, but it is in no way an substitution for going to the doctor. What you might think is just pimples could be an expression of a parasitic infection. So if you have questions or problems you go to the doctor. Don't play doctor yourself.

That being said, there is no one here who is qualified to answer those question, the best we could do is give a stab in the dark to see what popped out. Like the lumps on your penis, nothing could. Doing what your doctor recommended, seeing a specialist, is a good idea. The best we can really proffer.

Doctors (at least the smarter ones) don't self diagnose and self treat... because they lack somethig important... objectivity with their own ailment. They go to other doctors even if its in their own specialty. Yes many, many years ago I actually asked a doctor what they did when they got sick.

Men who masturbate are prone to get these raised white lumps on their shaft. They are caused by friction irritating the sabaceous glands. Nothing to actually worry about and are quite common. The problem escalates when they are squeezed or poked often, then they become an infected worry.
