I am really confused, last month me and my partner started to suspected that I was pregnant, my boobs are bigger, I was constantly hungry, and I was getting very mild cramps and I remember a doctor telling me that if you tap your nipples and there is pain, then it is a good sign that you may be pregnant, I always get sore boobs before my period, and my nipples are never sore when tapped ( I always try.) when I tried tapping my nipples they hurt like hell, my period was due on the 4th of this month, but a week and a half before my period was due the cramps started to to get more intense and later that night I started to bleed, my period normally lasts about 5 or 6 days, this one lasted 4 days and was light to begin with, then got a little heavier and then back to very light, just when I was wiping and abit on the pad. Now I don't have any pain in my nipple or boobs, but my snail trail has got so bad! Its thick black hairs running through the middle of my belly and I am feeling nauseous as I type. My belly has gotten bigger ( not in a bump type of way) just thicker and larger, even my friend noticed before when I was getting changed and commented on it. I was just wondering if it is possible that I am pregnant, or had a miscarriage or whether it was a period and I am letting my mind get carried away. Helpful answers only please.
Thanks in advance.

Once pregnant, periods stop. So no, you will not get a period during pregnancy.

Some women do experience bleeding during pregnancy and mistake it for a period.

Your doctor is wrong about tapping your nipples to determine pregnancy. Where did he get his medical degree?

Pregnancy can only be detected by a urine test, a blood test, an ultrasound in later pregnancy, or giving birth. Symptoms of pregnancy are also symptoms of many other things, and are not a reliable indicator of pregnancy.

If you feel you may be pregnant, try a pregnancy test using first morning urine. If it's negative, wait and see what happens with your next period. If you miss it, test again or get a blood test done.

I never said that he said it would determine pregnancy, I said that he said it was a good sign of pregnancy.
Thanks anyway though.

Sore nipples can be a symptom of pregnancy, but they're not by any means a good sign of pregnancy. Sore nipples can and do happen for any number of reasons, none of which have to do with pregnancy.

Like I said before, pregnancy cannot be determined by symptoms.

Sorry that the truth isn't what you wanted to hear.

Good luck. :)
