My murrary mower would not start with the switch I ran a wire streight to the starter and it started now it will not start by going from the battery to starter. Put on another starter same thing.

Hi,
Not sure what a taga switch is?
The only things that will prevent a machine from starting when connecting the positive battery terminal directly to the starter are dead or bad battery, bad ground (engine mount bolts, dirty terminal(s) ground strap, if equipped) or bad jumper. I would check the battery first, cables second (for white or bluish white corrosion) and ground of engine to frame with an ohmmeter from negative terminal to engine. Loose engine bolts are a moderately common problem that displays itself with the engine shaking back and forth as engine stops. Usually makes a clunking or knocking sound. Without the engine running, it can be grasped by two opposite corners and wiggling it back and forth. It is held on by four bolts basically at the corners.
Why not fix it to work as it should? Often takes no more time, is no more expensive and you already know it works then.
Always get post those model numbers (from under the seat) since I can post wiring schematics and "walk" you through them, and links to parts breakdowns.
Peace,
Clarke
