Hello to all! So here's my story: My period has been pretty irregular the last several months ranging from 28 days to 35 days vary from month to month which means I have no clue when I ovulate anymore. I had a normal period starting on June 11, 2014 lasting four days. I had unprotected sex on June 17, 2014. If I was following the 28 day cycle then I should have started my period on July 9th. (Again it hasn't been regular for several months) Well on July 11, 2014 I still hadn't started my period. I took a home pregnancy test with first morning urine=Negative. Later that night during sex the condom broke and he ejaculated in me. I took another test on July 12, 2014 with first morning urine=Negative. On July 15, 2014, now on day 34, I took another test and it is still negative. So I'm thinking if I was pregnant from the sex on June 17 it should show up by now. (My first pregnancy showed up one day past expected period=4 weeks). Is there anyway that when the condom broke on July 11, 2014 that I may have gotten pregnant and it has caused my period to not start?? I know it sounds a little impossible but I am just wondering if there are other women who have maybe been in a similar situation??
Thank you for your time!!

Hi vlmo2014,

In most cases, if you were pregnant from the sex on June 17, you would see a positive result by now. As you said, with irregular cycles, getting an idea for ovulation becomes more difficult. Some women will get a pretty good idea just from watching for changes in their cervical mucus.

Since your last several cycles have been off, and odds of getting pregnant in any given cycle are not high, chances are you are just experiencing another off cycle. However, pregnancy will be a possibility, and it could have just happened recently if you had a late ovulation. Give it some more time to see if a period shows up late for this month. If no period, try another test or see your doctor for a test there.
