My 14 yr old son came home from camp 3 days ago saying he didn't feel too good. He said he felt a little dizzy and nauseated. I gave him some Tylenol and told him to go relax, which he did. He said he was running around jumping turning fast "doing 360's in the air" is how he put it. It was muggy and hot that day. That night around 2am he vomited, he said it hit him pretty quickly, he was really dizzy which made him vomit. ALL day that day he vomited, I made him drink as much as he could but he couldn't hold anything down. He said his stomach was OK it was the dizziness that made him throw up. The next day he was able to drink some Gatorade and water and even had some crackers and even ate some dinner that night. Today, which is the 3rd day, he got up out of bed for a little while, he still is dizzy when he turns his head or moves at all. But he hasn't vomited since the first night. He does not have a fever, he has been drinking water and some ginger ale. I have given him motion sickness pills yesterday and today and last night I tried giving him Benadryl, which is an antihistamine, he did sleep through the night but today I did not want to give him both the motion sickness and benedryl because he would get too tired. Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks

Hi jsnh,

I'd take him in to see the doctor... or go into a walk-in clinic since it is the weekend. A common cause could be vertigo, but since there are a number of possibilities, you'll want his doctor to check things out, to rule out anything serious.

Has the idea of taking him to the doctor occurred to anyone yet? The nausea and puking could easily be a virus or food poisoning... the dizziness is why I think a doctors visit is warranted this soon.
