Need to know how to properly install a coil on a John Deere 102 garden tractor. I know to use the card provided with the new coil to get the gap right... but how do I line up the magnets in the flywheel with the coil? Or is that even necessary?

Hi,
Begin with the magets away from the coil (slightly to the left, insert carboard gauge with coil screws slightly snug, rotate flywheel until magnets are on one side oe gauge and coil is centered on other side and magnets pull the coil toward the flywheel. Tighten screws and rotate flywheel and gauge clockwise to remove gauge. Reassemble.
Peace,
