I have had throbbing ACHING calf muscles for a few months. At times I could watch the calf muscle and it looked like an alien was inside as there were twitches and rolling around of something inside the calf. I have been trying to get some relief with over the counter "Icy-Hot" roll on. BUT.. . Just today I noticed 6-10 bruise looking spots (bluish-brown). Muscle ACHING now! Any need for concern?

DUH! Any cause for concern? With the issues you note, absolutely. Could be a thrombosis. Go to see your doctor.

I would be concerned for sure. There are several possible causes, one of them with bruise-like spots on the skin is vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels).

Injury, drugs side effects, blood clotting problems are few other causes...
