My ceiling does not have a ground wire. How do I connect the light fixture without a ground in the ceiling. Do I connect the ground wire to the box?

Makes no difference if there is no circuit ground. Screw it to the green screw on the cross arm. Ground wire does not conduct electricity unless it contacts a current carrying conductor.
