Hi I hope I can get a little clarification. I'm not a teenager I'm actually 26 and just wondering if someone could help me out. I had protected sex with my partner a few days before my period was meant to be due. Now my question is could I be pregnant? The reason I am asking is because I think the condom might have torn without us realizing as I'm late three days now since when my period was meant to be due. I'm having cramps and sore back like I would if I was having my period but no blood. I'm spot on with my menstrual cycle I've only been twice late before and that's by a day when I was a teenager. It's to soon to have a pregnancy test, but has anyone else experienced this before?

Yes of course you could be pregnant, even with just a condom, there is a 3 to 18 percent chance of failure, so even without any obvious leak, there are failures.
But with that said, a few days is not really late, so you need to wait at least two more weeks to test. And because the sex was so close to the period it may still be negative. But at two week late, you can test, with first urine of the morning, then if negative. Test each week for a few more week, or until you get period. ( or positive reading)

Hi Missquestion,
Odds are in your favour that you aren't pregnant, but give it some more time and if still no period, try a pregnancy test. Cycles can be off now and then, even if they haven't been before. A few days prior to a period is not the norm for ovulation, but an occasional off ovulation can occur, so anytime you have sex, protected or not, pregnancy will be a possibility. In many situations it may not be likely, but still possible.
