I am 23 years old and had my first child at 17. I had an IUD for five years and did not have a period at all during. Spotted sometimes. After me and my husband got married we decided we would like to try to conceive. So, I had my IUD removed in December, and have been trying to get pregnant ever since. My period came exactly 30 days after removal and was clock work for 4 months but for the past two months its very little spotting that doesn't last over three days. I have a headache and seem to be nausea often. I don't want to get my hopes up and take a test and it be negative. Do this sound like symptoms of pregnancy? Should I make an appointment with my obgyn?

Thank you for your time,
Paige S.

Yes. Yes.

Lack of a period is the surest sign of pregnancy. Since you haven't had a period in two months that is a good sign that you're indeed pregnant. You can take a home pregnancy test. Making an appointment with your OB/GYN is always a good idea if you're concerned about your reproductive health. Though realize that it might take over a year to get pregnant. Even the most fertile couple might require a few months to more than a year to get pregnant. Pregnancy requires a perfect storm of various events for it to occur.

Good luck!
