So yesterday I started what I thought was my period. It was around the right time so I just figured maybe I wasn't pregnant after all. It came out in a gush which is pretty normal of my period but one thing I notice right off the bat was that the blood was brighter in color, more pinkish than my normal dark red period. So that gave me a funny feeling. I was also received hard cramping but its was same as my normal period cramps. That day was pretty heavy I changed my tampon at least 5 times through out the course of the day. But today I was taking a bath and I looked down and noticed many stringy pieces of blood floating around in the water and 2 smaller clots the size of a penny. This startled me, I figured I could be miscarrying. I had miscarried before around 2 months ago but I was 6 weeks along when I miscarried and it was very noticeable, much unlike this time around. They were much larger clots and undeniable when I passed the fetus. It was about 2 and a half inches in length and 1 and a half inches in width. Pretty obvious. I had also taken a test and knew I was pregnant so there was no question I was miscarrying. But I'm so confused this time because I'm so early and never even thought about getting a test yet cause my period as not missed yet. Someone help what do you think is happening.

It could be that you never implanted. The egg had been fertalized but for one reason or another it didn't implant. That happens from time to time, actually more often than you might believe. The body will abort fertalized eggs for many reasons. It can tell if it will be viable and if it is than it will let it pass or abort the pregnancy. This is what happened a few months back and chances are what is happening now. It is sad and there isn't really anything you can do about it.

It could be an early miscarriage, it could be your period. Keep in mind that your period will be made up of more than just blood. There will be tissue that will sometimes be noticed, and sometime not. It may appear as the stringy pieces with blood, or more clot like.

See what happens over the next few days. Hopefully you will notice that it becomes more like a period for you.
