Hi my old sears lawn tractor won't start there is nothing when I turn the key no clicking or anything

Is the battery any good?

Check the battery, should be about 13 volts. If the battery is good check to see if voltage reaches the starter when the key is turned. If not, start checking the several safety switches starting with the one under the seat. Any one failed safety switch will give results like what you see.
