I recommend you investigate the Michigan state government tax website. If there is a method by which you can recover the sales taxes you have paid, it will be on that website.

Very few places in the US offer a refund on sales tax for foreign visistors (Texas is one), and I could find nothing on Michigan's tax web site that mentions such a refund.
