I had a medical termination at the 6.5 week point of pregnancy. 4 weeks ago I received the injections, 5 days later I inserted pills into my vagina and started bleeding a few hours later.
Its been 4 weeks and I'm still bleeding. Some days its like a normal period with light cramping. There are some small clots. Other days there is nothing and I think its finally over until I get a gush of blood that fills my pad. I did my follow up appointment with my doctor and I started the birth control pill 2 days ago. Is the bleeding normal?

It could be just how your body is responding. Some women bleed shorter, some longer, some start and stop. Normally, however, the bleeding should usually be easing which it appears to be since you have some days with nothing.

Was the follow up appointment just recent?

Unless you are going through pads every hour or two on a regular basis, there is likely nothing to worry about. It is also possible that the introduction of the birth control pills can cause some irregular bleeding, especially at first as your body adjusts to the change in hormones. This may also throw off your cycle as to when your next period will show.

If it continues, and you don't feel that it is gradually becoming less, you could always check back with your doctor.
