Two gardeners are building fences around each of their rectangular 100 square yard gardens. One gardener buys 62 yards for fencing, the other buys 30 yards. Explain the reason for each gardener purchasing different lengths of fencing even though both gardens are100 square yards in area.

Very good. It's easy to show that 30 meters of fencing cannot enclose a 100 m^2 area all by itself.

Idk, May be both yards are side by side and they both are kind of attached, and the one who purchased 62 yards for fencing will do full four sides rectangular fencing, but the other one who just purchased the 30 yards will just do the fencing for only three sides because the fourth side which he didn't do is the middle part of the both yards, and the fencing for that fourth part is already done by his neighbor who purchase 62 yards. :) I really don't know have any other idea rather than this.

Yep, that's how it's done.
