I have helped my son raise and have raised her about 85% more than he has, now he has denied me visitation or communication with her for over 2 weeks.. says she is on punishment. What can I do to exercise my grand parent rights in Georgia.. Helpless and hurting

Sorry, grandparents rights are more for visitation if son was divorced and his ex wife had custody. It appears that son is perhaps enforcing punishment and grounding child.

You may hire an attorney and file in court for specific visitation. You will most likely get a couple days per month. Maybe more.

You do not have specific rights to enforce, you have right to file in court. For court order. And then to enforce those rights

**** if the court will not issue order. Or if it does for only a few days a month. Your son may be very mad, and restrict visit and contact ever more.

Just depends on what risk you are willing to take. And why this is happening with son. What did child do. Do you not support other discipline for child?

I know at one point, I had to restrict some visits from my mother. Because she would not make child follow the rules I set up.?

What rights do you think you have? As Chuck said grandparent rights exist to give grandparents rights in case of a break up of a marriage. Not if a parent decides to restrict visitation.

Grandparent rights need to be conferred by a court.
