What would cause a 59 yr old man to have hot flashes and sweats at night? Just stopped taking trazo-done medication.

Trazadone is an anti depressant medication. Did you stop taking it on the advice of your physician?

I also assume you are already past menopause (due to your age) as that takes some time to go through and that's a common symptom before its over.

Smoothy, men don't go into menopause. ;)
Some things it could be...
Thyroid
Hormonal imbalance
Tuberculosis
Just to name 3. Only your doctor can tell you for sure.

A 59 year old man should be checked twice a year as a matter of routine. Why did you stop taking your meds? How long did you take them? Does the prescribing doctor know of the sweats and hot flashes? Tell him so he can take the appropriate actions, and suggest appropriate solutions.

That is what I thought when I first read it. I missed the "59 yo MAN". It wasn't just you.
My question is if this is constant or does it come and go? IE, did this just happen this week or has it been happening on and off over the last few months. One could be a illness and another could be something more serious. Also take a look at what kind of bed you're using and what knid of insulation there is on it. It could be caused by you putting out too much heat and it coming back at you. That is just a guess though.
