Water pressure has become very low in my kitchen sink faucet. I have a Moen faucet.

Hi Cweshalek

The first thing that should be done is to remove the aerator at the end of the spout. Remove the aerator and clean it being sure to run water without the aerator in place to clear the lines/valve of any other sediment that may be present. If you have great water pressure/volume without the aerator in place then install the old aerator and see if there is a marked improvement...if not, buy a new aerator of the same thread type and replace the old one.

If that fails to fix the water pressure AND this is a pull out spray type of faucet then the next thing to check is the vacuum breaker (VB) in the hand-held spray. Here, unscrew the hand-held spray from the flexible hose and check for a blockage in either the VB or the spray hose (again, run water through the hose to clear).

If this is not a pull out spray type faucet then you would need to shut off the water to the sink from under the sink at the shutoffs and then disassemble the faucet and remove the faucet cartridge and clear the valve, etc., and then reassemble or get a new cartridge from Moen at 1800BUYMOEN!!! Most Moen products carry a lifetime parts warranty (including shipping). If you decide to contact Moen have a picture of the faucet on file and then e-mail them the picture so they can identify and send you the correct part (if needed).

I hope it's just the aerator...:)
