Hi,

Has anyone else experienced this before? If so please tell me what happens next.

I have just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant. I didn't know I was pregnant at the time so I got the MMR vaccine (first time getting the MMR). I would have been just under 4 weeks pregnant at the time.

Is there a real risk? I have read there are theoretical risks but study's show no evidence there are real risks?

Thank you.

What it says is that the chances of birth defects due to the a possible rubella infection cause but the live vaccine. What it also says is that the chance of an infection due to the vaccine is quite minimal and the chances of it affecting your child are less. The problem lies that there is a pssibility that something could happen. Your doctors, who you should be discussing this with as well, will probably order you up another ultrasound around 18 weeks to ensure that your little one is developing properly. You have little to worry about, but there is a slight chance.

Good luck.
