Toss it out and buy a new one?
Seriously... there have been books written on this subject. It is seriously involved and its one of those things that if you have to ask.. its probibly over your head.
Could be disk fragmenation... corrupted software, malware, spyware, viruses... insufficeint free drive space... things I didn't mention... and any combination of them all.

I agree with smoothy.
I will add: Your system could be completely out-dated...it could be your internet hanging you up and not the computer itself...virus problems...malware problems....the list is as long as my arm. You would probably do best to take it somewhere if you aren't very good with computers.

Can you elaborate? Is is slow to boot up, slow to open the browser, slow for opening anything? Are your browsers full of toolbars and extra crap? Do you have a second hard drive to copy data to and then do a factory restore on the C drive? Do you have a good spyware app to scan the drive(s)? If you give minimal information you'll get a minimal answer.

It is slow during boot up usually. I got these 2 errors:
c:\users\owner\appdata\local\conduit\Backgroundcon tainer\backgrondcontainer.dll
The specified module could not be found. (this is on my HP laptop)
c:\user\appdata\Roaming\newnext.me\nengine.dllThe specified module could not be found. (this is on my Dell laptop)
I believe there may be too many programs starting up during boot up. When I went to task manager, there are about 94 services running. I just wonder how to stop unnecessary programs during boot up.
Thanks

Do you have an anti-malware and an antivirus program? Your prolem is that you have installed a bunch of crap since you bought it to have that much running.
Do you have a way to reinstall windows... or restore it?

My restore does not work. What you recommend for anti-malware?
Thanks

Malwarebytes makes a free one that's talked of highly. And I use it.

You can find malwarebytes by searching for filehippo (a freeware and trialware site) and then search for it in their searchbox. Install it, update its definitions and then run it from safe mode to get the best results. Before you do though, I would search in your programs uninstall section for any toolbars or browser addons you didn't install yourself. You can also look in the addons section of the browser itself to get a clue what to look for in add remove programs (programs and features in vista or 7). The second link below read the comments section for some other info. If you're looking for a quick fix, try uninstalling some of the programs you don't like or recognize; sometimes things are downloaded accidentally.
