Kenmore elite limited edition (8542516): my sani rinse light is flashing along with the normal wash light? Pushed smart wash then it started flashing, pushed the cancel button then it started flashing, tried holding down the air dry button, to unlock because I thought it might be locked, nothing.. So than I tried unplugging from the wall thinking it might reset, that just stops the other lights from flashing and just the sani rinse light flashes... its like starting at the beginning, started pushing buttons and they started flashing again.. I don't have the manual and its loaded with dishes.. Please help, I'll try anything... thx again, ballihu

Here are manuals: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/Whirlpool_Kenmore%20Dishwashers.zip
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/Kenmore_Ultrawash_Dishwasher.pdf
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/Kenmore_Resetting%20fault%20codes.docx
That number does not show up here: Appliance Fault Codes - AppliancePartsPros.com (http://www.appliancepartspros.com/repair-help/appliance-fault-codes.html#Whirlpool%20Duet%20Front%20Loading%20Ga s%20and%20Electric%20Dryer%20Fault%20Codes) or here: Sears / Kenmore Fault Codes - AppliancePartsPros.com (http://www.appliancepartspros.com/repair-help/sears_kenmore-fault-codes.html)
They have 850, but not 854... The first three digits gives the actual manufacturer.
You could have a stuck safety, like the float on the bottom of the tub, and if that's the case you need to remove the fork or spoon or whatever is keeping it in the "up" position. I hope the manuals help.

It's made by Whirlpool, so one of the manuals I sent should work. Just click on link and download then unzip folders.

Thanks drtom but neither of those manuals have an answer for the flashing sani rinse light and I've also tried pushing those certain buttons for the diagnostic but nothing seems to prevail.. Just an fyi, I've sent you an email the night before last and I know it sounds the same but it kind of explains thing a little clearer. Thanks again and sorry for being so bothersome, ballihu

Kenmore elite limited edition (665.16493300):

My Kenmore starts with the sani rinse light which is flashing green... *

Then I push the normal wash button and that light starts flashing too with the sani rinse light... *

So while those lights are both flashing I push the cancel button and then that starts flashing too... *

So now I have three buttons flashing so I figured I try another button, the smart wash button, to see if there's a pattern then it starts flashing... *

So now I have four buttons flashing...

I tried holding down the air dry button, to unlock because I thought it might be locked, nothing.. *

So than I tried unplugging from the wall thinking it might reset, that just stops the other lights from flashing and just the sani rinse light flashes... its like starting at the beginning, started pushing buttons and they started flashing again... the funny thing is the other buttons will not flash once there pushed, just those four buttons that I've mentioned... *

I've checked continuity in the thermal fuse, heater element and doorswitch so far everything checks OK...
I have the main control board(8654543)*and the main control board(8533415) to*check ohms but not sure how to test (8564543), is there a way? I checked (8533415) by testing each button but don't know ohms for each...

What else can I do..

I don't have the manual and its loaded with dishes.. Please help, I'll try anything... thanks again for any help, ballihu

You can try to clear the fault by pressing sani rinse /air dry/sani/rinse/air dry, and see what happens, but, I don't know if your flashing lights are error codes as most flashing LED lights are, but without a manual to guide you through the official process you are at best shooting in the dark.

I found several sights to download one for your model, and the best one is a simple free sign up.
