I recently found out I am pregnant. Going by my LMP it was 6 weeks. But when I got a USG it says its less than 5 weeks. I recently experienced very heavy bleeding during which I passed a clot which was about the size of my little finger. Did I have a miscarriage?

It's possible, but not necessarily. Some women will have some spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy. The result of the ultrasound is going to give you a more accurate date as to how far along the pregnancy is than going by the LMP. Keep in mind that you would not usually be pregnant in the first week or so after your period, but until a scan is done, that is the date that is used.

When did you have the ultrasound? If it was several days ago, you may want to ask about having another one done to see what changes have occurred. It could ease your mind.
