I am 9 years post tubal ligation. I have had 3 c-sections and 1 miscarriage. I am 17 weeks late for my period. My uterus is distended. I recently started feeling fetal type movements. I thought it could be gas but then I was having gas and fetal type movements at the same time. I am very sleepy, sore nipples, and extreme heartburn. Over the last 4 months have experienced nausea, lightheadedness and vomiting. I am not very regular with my periods never have been but never had any trouble conceiving that's why I had a tubal ligation. I took 2 pregnancy tests at 14 weeks which were negative. My last pregnancy I didn't get a positive pregnancy test until my 5th month and felt the baby moving inside me. Should I be concerned or am I just imagining things? I am not yearning to be a mother again but I rather be pregnant than to have something seriously wrong with me? Am I pregnant after tubal ligation or is this signs of a pregnancy?

You will need to visit your doctor and be properly tested. There is no magic way to tell over the internet.

Gee thanks. I was asking for an overall general opinion perhaps from a woman or someone in the medical field. I was not asking for an internet pregnancy test. I guess all I want is some reassurance that I am not over reacting not a smart remark. But thanks anyways.

Fr_Chuck gave a very accurate and valid answer. There was no excuse or reason for the type of response you gave. Do you want guesses (which really is all anyone can do online) and wait until a life threatening condition occurs from an etopic pregnancy which you would be more at risk for than average, or accept a perfectly valid answer where you would find out before that happens?

First while we do have professionally trained people on the site. The issue is, your signs can be signs of many things, just signs alone mean nothing. Really.

The missed period is the only real sign that counts and yes it does appear that there is an issue, and pregnancy could be one of those options.

While most people, using the first urine of the morning will test correctly at least in their 2nd month, it is possible that a few did not. And of course because you tested late one time, does not mean you would a 2nd time.

Given the issues and the problems.and now being 4 months late, (no period) I really have no idea why you would not have went to the local doctor to be examined 4 to 8 week ago. There an also be serious complications from the medical example you gave. We try not to mention a list of serious complications so not to scare people, since no one online can know. It is just guesses. And even uneducated guesses, since we can not see you or even have a good medical history to go on.

So yes, you need to. And should have already gone. To a doctor long before now.

There are no doctors on this site, and no doctor would even hazard a guess in a case like yours.

The only way to determine pregnancy is with a urine test, blood test, ultrasound, or giving birth.

Could you be pregnant? Yes. Tubal ligation's fail all the time. Are you pregnant? We can't determine that. No one online can.

Thank you all. Actually those are the types of responses I was looking for and apologize to Chuck if I came off short just very stressed about the whole situation. Thank you all again.

But to answer why I did not go to the doctor weeks ago. I regularly miss periods for months at a time but not with the symptoms that have since recently appeared.

You didn't mention age, but menopause and hormonal changes could be a reason.
