I have Maytag MCE8000AYW Neptune Dryer. The top part of this unit works fine all the time even when the bottom is not working properly. The bottom part of dryer works for about 15 or 20 minutes then just stops and after sitting for a few minutes comes back on all by itself and works again for 4 or 5 minutes then shuts down again and will not come back on by itself again. Then I open the door and let it cool off for a while and then close the door and it again works fine for a while then quits again. After going through this several times, the dryer then for some reason will work properly through a complete cycle like everything is OK. I cleaned out the machine vents and ordered and replaced the Thermistor #31001515490 and it does the same thing. This started a while back and the vent hose was almost completely blocked and I actually replaced it and thoroughly cleaned out the bottom part of this machine, but that did not correct the problem. Help please I don't know what to do next.

Sounds like it is still dirty. If you miss one little thing it still will not work. Clean it well by taking it totally apart and washing out the parts.

OK, I will try that. Again and see what happens.
