View Full Version : Should I file an amended Ohio tax return for wrong w2 information?

I e-filed my Ohio state taxes and the federal adjusted gross income from my federal return which is what my taxes are figured from is the right amount. I have multiple w2's to add up to that gross amount. When listing each w2 separately, I wrote a wrong number on one of them which makes the 3 add up to $1000 less then what I wrote for my total gross wages. Since the tax is figured on what my federal gross listing was and it is right, do I have to file an amended return since I'm not mailing my individual w2's in?

Probably not. Ohio might question the addition, and if they cannot resolve it independently, they will send you a letter asking about the inconsistency.
