I had an IUD inserted about 3 months ago and I haven't had a period since. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative THREE TIMES! Can you still take a test and be pregnant but with eptopic pregnancy? If not, then what is it?

It could just be a side effect from the iud. Ectopic pregnancys don't always show up on a pregnancy test. In either case I definitely think it would be a good idea to set up an appointment with your doctor and let them know all that is going on. They are the only ones that can give you a complete diagnosis, and since they know your medical history, they are best qualified to answer this question for you. Good luck, hope all works out.

I have had my iud in for almost 5 years and I stopped having my period right after it got inserted its fine, you won't have it anymore till you remove it probably.

mkaye222: I agree, I have had my IUD inserted since February of this year, it is now October. I may have spotted twice since, and I never get a period.

I had my iud for 1 1/2 yr and didn't have a period the whole time. Had it taken out and started 3 weeks later.

I've had mine in since August 28th, and I've only had a bit of spotting for 1 week, a month after insertion. My 2nd and 3rd time for period I maybe spotted once, but it was more a discoloration and stuff. Now I was supposed to get it on the 2nd of this month, and nothing yet. So yeah. I asked my doctor, and he said it was normal. I still get bloated and stuff, just no period.

I just had sex with this chick last night who keeps trying to tell me to go on the IUD cause I have my period and she wants to suck me off and she's pissed cause she can't. She's making me come to her house next weekend so this can be accomplished... yay!!

That is interesting. I had my cooper IUD inserted four years ago. I have not had a period for the last 7 months. Scans and blood tests revealed nothing. Docs say it is normal to go without a period for a while. I have no idea why I have not had a period when I used to have them regular and heavy with the IUD in place. Any ideas? - >Removed<
