The plumbing in my laundry room seems to be missing a vent, or there are too many P-traps.

The current setup is this:
The sanitary line that goes to the laundry room connects to my main sanitary line while it is horizontal. The line going to the laundry room is 1 1/2 inches. Immetidately on the line there is a p trap. This trap is vented about 2 feet downstream with the main vent for the house going through the roof.

The pipe going into the laundry room runs about 14 feet horizontally, then there is a tee which goes to the laundry sink. The other side of the tee goes to the standpipe for the washing machine. The standpipe does not have a P trap. It has a 90 degree bend that sends it vertical.

The sink has it's own P trap. It is not vented.

My options are either to eliminate the P-trap on the sink, leaving only the trap 14 feet down the line, or leave the trap on the sink, add one to the standpipe, and add a cheater vent. Which option is better?

Also, I'd like to add a cleanout to this line. Where would be the best place for this?

Yes, essentially as it is connected right now the sink has two traps. If I put a trap on the standpipe, the standpipe will also have two traps. The trap 14 feet down the line has to stay at this time as it is not easily removed. I figure my options here are either to remove the trap on the sink and standpipe leaving only the one 14 feet down, or I can also add a vent downstream from the traps on the sink and standpipe, leaving the trap 14 feet down the line, which is also vented downstream from it. What do you think is best?

Nothing here is right...

The main stack vent that you say vents this whole mess doesn't vent anything if there are fixtures above this "main vent"...actually does the opposite and can act to siphon the ptrap(s) on the drain line when a toilet or tub waste comes zooming past, right?

Anyway, since you asked what you SHOULD do...

You should rip out the trap closest to the main stack and install a cleanout in its place.
You should install a trap on the sink and a trap on the washer drain...this is not double trapping if the washer trap comes off before the sink trap. Both of these should have vents and they can combine and you can add a cheater vent (AAV) or you can run the vent to another vent and properly connect. if you install traps with unions in them the traps will be easily removed for cleaning out in the future.

That's it. Anything else isn't plumbing it is mickey mousin' and we can't help with that!!
