I have been charged for fraud around $900 from my employer and it is first time. It is under $5000. I am on my work permit and I have never ever done a crime here in Canada. This is first time I am charged for a fraud which my employer says I did. I don't want to get charged for criminal. I want to get out of it. I have signed promise to appear by police which is after a month date. I got to ask a free lawyer and he said to apply for AMP or for alternative measure. I don't know if that will work on me. Can you please explain me the procedure for AMP and whether it will work for my case?

Since you said work permit, it sounds like you are not from Canada, so pleading to a deal will be the same as quilty and can effect your status. You need to be found not guilty ( if you really are) So they should not be able to prove this, if you did not do it.

If I really did not do it, I would not agree to a deal but hire an attorney to fight it

"I want to get out of it". Are you guilty? Did you commit fraud?
