Does your divorce decree include an order for child support? If not, get one. If it does then report him for not paying. What's your general location?

Your alimony checks would end at your marriage... the child support would end only at the adoption of the child.

You do not file "sanctions" you take them back to court to get the current child support order ( issued by the court) enforced, this may include garnishment of the paycheck.

Morally of course a husband should try and provide for his wife and a child if she has one. That is called duty and honor, chlld support does not nearly cover all the costs of a chlld.

Your point is well taken, but you left out the key info of whether there is a court order for support. If there is one, you can work with a local agency that helps collect child support. Most US states have one (Any question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area). The second option would be to go back to the court that issued the support order and ask them to find him in contempt.

If there was no court order for child support, then you need to go to court to obtain one. Without a court order there is no legal obligation to pay support (in most areas).

The fact that he works for the government should have little bearing (depending on locale).
