Hello I am experiencing a problem and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing. I went to the ER on 1/29/14 because I was having some spotting on and off they gave me my HCG levels of 6866 and told me I was 6.2 weeks which was right on track with what I thought, but then today I went for the same thing and they diagnosed me with "Threatening Miscarriage" and told me that my levels had only went up to 7767.3. I'm wondering if I am in the process of having a miscarriage how are my levels slowing climbing and not progressingly decreasing? I'm trying to stay positive but this is hard right now. Has anyone every experienced this or know someone who has? And what was the outcome?

It could be that they're not climbing quite enough to show that your embryo is still viable. IT is in a grey zone.

One thing to know is that a embryo will spontaneously abort itself and sometimes for no reason. There are reasons that a embryo is not viable, genetic disorders for example, and if the growth is hampered because of it, the body will abort it. It is a far better use of its resources to abort and try again then to bring the pregnancy to term and lose the child or even lose the child mid-term. It is horrible and it sucks. It is part of life.

I am sorry that this could be happening and wish you the best luck.

Thanks @CravenMorhead. I'm waiting to see my OB on Friday and see what she suggests.
