Does sun prevent/help treat acne? My mom made me sit outside for an hour because she thinks I'm too ugly. -.-

All I know is that it helps me. Sitting in the sun gives my skin a healthy glow, but tanning in a tanning bed not only gives me a tan but helps clear up my face. I'm not sure why scientifically, but that's just me. I think everyone's skin has different reactions to it. That sounds a little harsh though, that your mom made you sit in the sun because you were "ugly." nobody is ugly my dear, we all have different perceptions of what is ugly and what is beautiful. Who decides what is ugly or pretty anyway? Remember, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

Did your mom tell you this or give you the perception or do you just think she feels that way about you. She may just be trying to help you. Of course I don't know I'm not there but it's something to ponder on.

The sun and tanning beds have always helped clear up my skin and my best friend's skin too. Although I have read before that it doesn't-but it helps me. The problem with that is too much sun. Although I love to be tan, I am already showing sun spots and I am 31. So just don't stay out there too long and just use spray tans or sunless lotions for that healthy glow. :)

Ah crap... there goes my goth- look

My mom seems very interested in my looks. She has even threatened to cut my long hair short (wich I strongly disagree about doing).

Heh, yes I would guess that it would help, it dries out your skin, which does help to get rid of acne. However it also leaves you with dry skin... :)
