View Full Version : Is It Appropriate?

Hello.

My friend texted me that his mother is currently sick and not doing well. She's not terminal (that I know of) but she is having a really hard time. I've met his parents before and even stayed at their house. His parents sent me a get well card when I was sick.

I wanted to do something for his mom since she was thoughtful enough to send me a card when I was sick. I just don't know if it's appropriate to have get well flowers delivered (I live in another state) or is that too much? Is a get well card better and more appropriate?

Or should I not bother at all and just rely that my friend tell his mom that I hope she feels better?

I want to do something nice but I don't want to look like a creeper or inappropriate. And my friend and I are just friends and no blossoming relationship whatsoever.

Thank you for your response :)

If you don't know what flowers she likes or is allergic to, you might not give the right impression. Lots of shops do things like cookie bouquets that pose less risk. There's also that Teddy Bear service. Just a couple of different options.

Sending a basket is completely appropriate, what goes in it is the challenge.

A get well card is enough, I would think.

Thank you for your kind responses. At least now I know that it's not inappropriate to send her anything, whether card or flowers/gift basket.
I appreciate the advice.
