I skipped the first day of a new pack of birth control pills last Sunday night and took one on Monday. I had protected sex Monday night and Tuesday morning but I am still worried that I could be pregnant. When is the earliest that I could take a pregnancy test and have it be accurate?

When do you usually start your new pack of pills?

Chances are you will be fine. You will need to wait until after you miss your next period by about two weeks, which should be February by my calculations, and test then. Most of the common home pregnancy tests test for a specific hormone, HCG, which is produced as the embryo implants itself until the end of pregnancy I think. The production of it ramps up as your pregnancy continues. You don't really have a testable amount in your system until you've missed your expected period by about two weeks.

Good Luck.

You should be OK, but remember birth control pills are not 100 percent, so pregnancy is always option.

You wait till you miss a period, and then wait till you are at least 2 week late to test. So you will have to wait a long time at this point
