The remote for my ceiling has stopped working. Replaced the battery but it still does not work.

There are banks of miniature dip switches in both the hand held unit and the canopy. Any chance a little person might have opened the back of the remote and played with the switches? If you go to Home Depot you can buy a universal remote with a new receiver.
