I have a situation with my HDMI cables not working on my Panasonic Viera flatscreen. I lost the use of my HDMI output last fall after a lightning storm. My HDMI component no longer works on my TV but the red/white/yellow cables do. Is there a reset for the HDMI or can I purchase a new HDMI outlet? Thank you,

Do you mean outputs or inputs? TVs generally don't have outputs, only inputs. If you only have one HDMI jack then you need to bring it in for repair to replace the circuit. If you have more than one HDMI jack and at least one works, you can get an HDMI switchbox.

My first HDMI slot fried in a power surge and I was able to assign the second HDMI slot. Don't know about your model.

I had the same thing happen to me - a lightning strike nearby knocked out all my low voltage connections which included HDMI ports on my HT receiver, projector and ethernet connections on router, computer and cable modem. So, the long answer is, your HDMI board is most likely fried if none work and it would need to be replaced. In the mean time, try using component/RGB cables for HD content, provided your TV has that input option. Your standard composite video cable (yellow) won't support HD content.
