Plumber; hired by Contractor/Owner, came and poured cement, pushed out wall 1/2 inch too far and poured cement, liner and pan. Then another contractor came and placed tiles, when it came to put door back on, they couldn't because they pushed door frame out with cement. After finding out that maybe plumber doesn't have a license, I have fired him and been arguing with Contractor that he did a horrible job. The tile guys came back took down the tiles and the wall dug a hole, took out enough cement to be able to push back wall in place. The next guy came back to find liner is torn on corner, he placed another liner with special glue, put cement boards on top, replaced sheet rock and painted blue water barrier on top and then added cement. They did water test and left, so it can dry to come back next week and finish. Several hours later the cement cracked in three places. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I understand most of what you are trying to get across (I think)...

A permit should surely have been pulled for this job...LOTS of codes involved here (building, plumbing and even electrical laws). If there was no permit and you knew that then you are at the mercy of the contractor (the last guy didn't sound so bad (water barrier guy)....I'd give him a chance to, at the least, check his work).

If there was a permit pulled or you were not aware that a plumbing and building permit were probably required for this job, then you have your local building department (or similar city/town/county officer) that needs to get involved at this point and make sure things get done right! Although all mistakes so far have shown up at this time, the next mistakes probably won't show up for a year or two...awful time to find out it was done wrong, AGAIN!!

Glad to discuss a bit more if you want...

Yep, do not pay anyone till it is done right, if it is wrong, make them tear it out if they have to and do it over again.

It is your money, your home, demand, do not discuss, tell them what they have to do, to make you a happy customer
