I am interested in putting a heated floor in two areas in my home.
1.) a master bath 17' x 9'
2.) the first level of my town home which is adjacent to the garage - has a 1/2 bath, a guest bedroom and is also the entryway from the front door. It is on a concrete slab which makes it very cold.

Aren't there different types of heated floors? Will it make that much of a difference whether I use a mat or a coil that the element can be placed closer together.

I've also heard that some have better warranties than others if they stop working.

Most warranties will not include the labor, always ask, since labor is going to often be the biggest issue.

Some also use a radiator type heat, That is what I use. Mine works so well, that I have not used any other heating in my home all winter.
