I have a Sears model 625.384732 water softener and am on a well system. My water was tested by the Public Health Department and found to have some bacteria in it. I was given instructions to disinfect the well with bleach. It says to bypass the water softener because the medium can be damaged by the shock chlorination procedure and use the manufacturer's instructions to disinfect the softener. I have had no luck getting an answer form Sears. Does anyone know how I should disinfect it?
Also my kitchen Moen faucet has and undersink taste odor filter. Will the bleach solution hurt it?
Thanks,
Bruce
